Terms of Service

1. Bookings

Bookings are billed in hourly increments unless the studio listing specifies otherwise. Any minimum duration (including half-day or full-day minimums) is shown on the studio’s booking details and applies to your reservation.

You are responsible for planning your session so that setup, styling, lighting tests, breaks, and wrap-out are completed within the reserved time window. Additional time may be charged if you remain past your end time or if the studio requires overtime to reset the space.

You must provide accurate booking information (contact, team size, intended use, and any special requirements). Studios may decline or cancel bookings if details are materially inaccurate or if the request conflicts with on-site rules.

2. Cancellations

Standard cancellation policy: you may cancel free of charge up to 48 hours before the scheduled start time. Cancellations within 48 hours are subject to a 50% fee of the booking subtotal for the affected reservation.

Some studios may apply different cancellation terms (including stricter terms for peak dates, multi-day reservations, or special setups). If a studio’s listing specifies a different policy, that policy controls for that booking.

No-shows or failure to access the studio due to missing permits, late arrival, or inadequate crew preparation are treated as cancellations and are non-refundable to the extent allowed by the applicable studio policy.

If a studio cancels due to circumstances under its control, refunds are issued for the affected booking amounts paid through the platform. Any additional remedies (such as rebooking assistance) are offered at our discretion.

3. Acceptable use

You agree to use studios and the platform responsibly and in compliance with all applicable laws and building rules. Prohibited activities include unlawful content production, harassment, and any conduct that endangers people or property.

No hazardous materials, open flames, pyrotechnics, fog/haze, weapons, stunts, or animals are allowed unless explicitly permitted by the studio in writing and compliant with local regulations. You are responsible for ensuring your crew understands and follows all on-site policies.

Rigging, power distribution, and equipment usage must follow safety guidance. Do not overload circuits, disable safety devices, block exits, or tamper with building systems. You must maintain safe cable management and keep walkways clear.

You are responsible for the condition of the space during your session, including avoiding damage, removing trash as required, and returning equipment and furniture to their designated locations. You may be charged for damage, excessive cleaning, missing items, or rule violations.

4. Liability

LumenBase is a booking platform that helps users discover and reserve studio spaces. Studios are independent providers and are responsible for on-site conditions, staffing, equipment availability, safety compliance, and the services they offer.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, LumenBase is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, production delays, or reputational harm arising from your use of the platform or any studio booking.

Our aggregate liability for any claim related to a specific booking is limited to the amount you paid through the platform for the affected booking. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in such cases, these limitations apply to the fullest extent permitted.

You are responsible for obtaining insurance appropriate for your production (including equipment, liability, and workers’ coverage where applicable). Studios may require proof of insurance and may impose additional on-site requirements for higher-risk activities.

5. Global compliance

You are responsible for permits, releases, licenses, and any approvals required in your jurisdiction or at the studio location, including public performance rights, location permits, drone permits, or municipal filming requirements.

You are responsible for applicable taxes, duties, or withholdings related to your production and for ensuring you comply with employment and labor laws (including child labor rules where relevant).

Additional terms

  1. Account integrity: You must keep your account secure and promptly update contact details. You are responsible for activity performed under your account.
  2. Payments: Payment methods, deposits, and hold policies may vary by studio and are displayed during checkout. You authorize charges consistent with the booking you confirm.
  3. Disputes: If an issue arises, contact us promptly so we can coordinate with the studio. Chargebacks or payment disputes may restrict account access pending review.
  4. Modifications: We may update these Terms from time to time. Updated terms apply upon posting to this page and will govern future bookings.
